The human life is connected with water

The proclamation of 2018-2028 as the International Decade of Action “Water for Sustainable Development,” aimed at addressing global challenges related to the use and protection of water resources, is considered a beneficial and humanitarian initiative proposed by the Republic of Tajikistan. At the UN Conference, Tajikistan was supported by its allies. As a result of the International Decade of Action, the State and Government of the Republic of Tajikistan have implemented significant measures to provide clean drinking water to the populations of cities and districts across the country.

The Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Project, implemented with the support of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and funding from the World Bank, has achieved significant success in providing clean drinking water to the rural population of the country. The project is managed by the Project Management Centre for ‘Local Infrastructure Development in the Republic of Tajikistan’ in the jamoats of Vose district.

In Vose district, there are five water intakes that supply clean and ecologically safe water to the rural population. The water is disinfected with liquid chlorine before being distributed to the residents. Additionally, a new water intake has been constructed in the Voseyskiy region and put into operation according to the project requirements.

Looking back at the conditions of previous years, the people of the Vose neighborhood faced significant challenges due to the lack of water, relying on water sources that were harmful to their health.

Chorvodoron village, located in the Abdi Avazov Jamoat, is the most distant village in the area. Most of the villagers are engaged in cattle breeding.

With the implementation of the ‘Village Water Supply and Sanitation’ project, drinking water was provided to Chorvodoron village, along with other villages in the district. The residents are deeply grateful to the Government of the Republic for this support and care. For them, the supply of clean water to every home in the village feels like a fairy tale.

While providing access to water is an important aspect of improving the living standards of the people, the most crucial and fundamental aspect is the economical use of water.

Efficient water use means ensuring that quality water is available to the entire population. People should use water rationally; inefficient use not only harms the family budget but also leads to water scarcity for populations in more remote areas. Therefore, water conservation should be a priority. We must reflect on the water shortages of past years and how difficult it was to deliver water over long distances.

In every household in villages supplied with water, water consumption is measured using water meters. Therefore, each resident should use water according to their needs and avoid wasting it, to prevent harm to the family budget.

Water should be available to the population throughout both the hot and cold seasons. To ensure a steady supply of drinking water during the winter, the GDP “Water Supply and Sewerage” of Voseisky district operates according to a set of planned measures, working to provide the population with drinking water without any issues during the winter months.
