The World Toilet Day in Vose district
On November 19th within the project of Vose “Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Project” there was organized a clean-up day dedicated to the World Toilet Day. Pupils and teachers attended the event from pilot schools where modern toilets were built, which was an important step towards improving sanitation and children’s health.
The clean-up day included various activities such as cleaning the areas of new toilets and raising awareness about the importance of personal hygiene and cleanliness. Participants actively discussed the importance of access to clean toilets and their impact on health and well-being, especially in rural areas.
The event not only improved the environment but also became a platform for knowledge sharing on the need for careful attention to sanitation and water supply. The organizers and participants expressed hope that such events will contribute to raising awareness of sanitation issues and improving living conditions in the community. Involving schoolchildren in the clean-up day dedicated to clean toilets played a key role in developing their responsibility for the safety of these facilities. The main objective of the event was to make students realize the significance and importance of cleanliness and order in their schools, especially in the context of improving sanitation.
During the clean-up day, schoolchildren not only cleaned and improved the area around the toilets, but also took part in educational talks where they discussed the importance of preserving new facilities. They were told how clean toilets affect health and general well-being, as well as the learning process
By participating in this event, children learned to appreciate the work that goes into building modern toilets and to feel personally responsible for their use. In this way, they became not just consumers but also guardians of these resources, realizing that the condition of the facilities built for their comfort and health depended on their behavior.
The clean-up day also helped to develop the habit of caring for their surroundings and leading an active lifestyle, as well as developing teamwork and interaction skills. The result was not only a clean and tidy school yard, but also a strengthening of awareness of the importance of sanitation in the life of each puipls
